My name is Michael Neely and I own Neely Media Solutions LLC, an SBA certified Veteran-Owned Small Business. I help business owners achieve their business marketing goals. I got started in Atlanta building websites and doing graphic design work in 2011. Since then, I have helped over 100 small business clients all over the United States with over 100 projects, and the list keeps growing. Now, I provide digital marketing services, web development services, and web design services.
From Atlanta to Miami to Maine
I started coding websites in 2011 starting with my own. I got into WordPress in 2012 and by 2014, I began getting into writing PHP and studying the structure of WordPress websites. I began calling myself a WordPress developer and offering services nationwide in 2015. I built a few custom-coded WordPress themes and plugins. Although I got my beginning in Atlanta, I have worked in-house in Miami, Florida and moved to Maine in 2021. I have clients all over the country in places like Charlotte and Newark.

I proudly served in the US Navy on a fast attack submarine in the 1980s. I have never forgotten the commitment to service and dedication to excellence that was required when I served my country. In January 2024, My business, Neely Media Solutions LLC was officially recognized as a Veteran-Owned Small Business by the Small Business Administration. This is a goal that I have been pursuing for at least 20 years and is a remarkable testimony to my goal-oriented focus on my business and project completion.

Web Design Services
I built my first site in March 2000 with a drag-and-drop website builder, several sites in the early 2000's in Microsoft FrontPage, coded my first site from scratch in 2011, and discovered WordPress in 2012. Since then, I have built over 100 websites for various small businesses and agencies, many as a third-party designer and developer. Now, I create designs in Adobe XD as my favorite design and prototype tool.

In October 2012, I noticed that my new site was not showing up in the top 10 pages of Google. After all, it wasn't the early 2000's anymore and there were billions more websites on the internet. I stared at my new website looking for new ways to implement a search engine optimization strategy. WordPress seemed like the logical solution for me to build great websites that were also search friendly. WordPress now powers all my websites.
I learned to make some changes to my sites altering the CSS code and a little PHP. In 2015, I began custom-coding WordPress themes for Atlanta companies and I look forward to building new themes. I also like to custom design sites for clients using themes from StudioPress on the Genesis framework.
In 2019, I took a deep dive into PHP programming and can now code the theme you need for your business. I first became interested in search engine optimization over two decades ago when I built my first website. Yahoo was the dominant search engine then and Google was in its infancy. Now, Alphabet owns the dominant search engine called Google. Keeping up with Google's endless algorithm changes has been daunting. These days, it's important not to leave out Bing and DuckDuckGo as part of your SEO efforts.
The first part of SEO is finding out what is working and what can be improved in your website. My approach to improving your search ranking results is a discipline that begins with a responsible site structure. Loading heading tags will have the same effect as "keyword spamming." Carefully worded content and blog structure is next, paying close attention to image alt tags and more.
