Digital Marketing Experience That Gets Results
I logged onto the internet for the first time in the year 2000. Almost immediately, I saw the potential for sharing information around the world and the ability for small businesses to grow into larger businesses quickly. Today, brands have come and gone (including the one with sock puppet TV commercials). Today, brand loyalty can be gained or lost in minutes. Digital marketing is a major part of marketing your company instead of something nice to have. Having a sound digital marketing plan is vital to your business success.
Digital marketing today is about using the internet to attract, engage, and delight customers. The more a customer is engaged and delighted, the more likely you will earn their business. And the more engaged and delighted they are, the more likely they will become brand ambassadors for your company.
Web Design
When it comes to web design, I have seen trends come and go. In the 90's, the goal seemed to make everything "flashy" like pinball machines. Then, it was to cram as much information as possible into each page to maximize every bit of space. Then, advances in mobile phones changed everything. As more mobile devices were able to access websites, web design requirements changed. More "white space" became necessary to accommodate different mobile devices. Today, mobile design plays a major role in web design and is a major consideration in my designs.
Web Development
In the 2000's, WordPress changed everything with the concept of a content management system. WordPress is still the dominant CMS in the world. Facebook and Instagram released React.js in 2015 and now Gatsby is just one potential CMS available using the React framework. Laravel is another option that can offer a JavaScript front-end and the strength and security of a PHP back-end. Then there are proprietary platforms like Shopify and HubSpot CMS. The question is "Which platform is right for your business and your budget?"
Search Engine Optimization and Reporting
Search engine optimization is the discipline of getting websites recognized in search engine results pages (SERPs). In the early days of the internet, organic search was all there was. Then Yahoo! and Google developed the paid ad model for search engine marketing. Search engine optimization is still the first step to getting traffic from paid advertising.
Search engine optimization has gotten a bad reputation over the years because of irreputable companies who charge a ton of money and do nothing. The first step in SEO is to analyze your company's website to see what structural improvements need to be made. Then, analyze the content for optimization. Page loading speed also plays a secondary role but content is still king in SEO.
Web Content Management
Your content isn't just a bunch of words that tells your story. Your web content should be carefully researched keywords that attract customer searches for your products and services. Some say that your content should have "H tags" and then put them anywhere. Your site and page structure plays the next largest role in search engine optimization as your keywords. If you haven't carefully thought about your content, then you are losing opportunities to find new customers.
There are some great content management systems out there, like WordPress (and I highly recommend WordPress for several reasons). However, a CMS can't research and select keywords to get the best results for your business. Keyword research and site structure are major parts of your search engine results, paid or organic.
Web Analytics and Reporting
Every journey begins with the first step. However, if you don't know where you are, how will you know how to get to your next level? Without web reporting, you don't know how to improve. I can help you run the reports to see where your sales are now and how to improve them with your digital marketing.
Digital Advertising
Digital advertising is also known as pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. PPC advertising is the model where you pay for a share of keywords that appear in searches. Common misconceptions is that you buy exclusive rights to a keyword in search results. Although having exclusive rights to keywords might work, keywords would cost millions for everyone! Search engine marketing is effective but it can also get expensive very quickly. Making one mistake in setting up your account can cost a lot of money with no results.
